Sr. Principal Sales Engineer

Remote
Full Time
Experienced
Galorath is seeking a highly capable Sales Engineer to support the growth of our SEER-MFG and SEER-H solutions across U.S. and European markets, with a focus on defense, aerospace, automotive, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

This role is designed for an experienced engineering professional who brings deep, hands-on manufacturing expertise and can translate that knowledge into high-impact client engagements. The ideal candidate understands how products are actually built—at the process and shop-floor level—and can connect engineering design, manufacturing execution, and cost outcomes.
This individual will serve as the technical face of our sales organization, partnering closely with business development, product, and consulting teams to position Galorath’s solutions, demonstrate value, and help clients solve complex cost and manufacturing challenges.

Critical Success Requirements
  • Demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience (e.g., machining, fabrication, composites, assembly, or production engineering)
  • Ability to credibly engage engineers, estimators, and shop-floor personnel
  • Strong understanding of real-world production processes and cost drivers
  • Ability to rapidly assess client environments and translate manufacturing workflows into cost insights
  • Capable of linking engineering design → manufacturing process → cost outcome in client discussions

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Solutioning
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand client manufacturing, engineering, and cost challenges
  • Rapidly assess production environments and identify key cost drivers, inefficiencies, and risks
  • Translate client workflows into SEER-MFG and SEER-H solution approaches aligned to their data and systems
  • Develop and deliver high-impact demonstrations showing clear linkage between design, process, and cost
  • Engage both engineering teams and shop-floor stakeholders with credibility
  • Support proposal development with technical narratives, solution architectures, and basis of estimate inputs

Sales Support & Growth
  • Partner with Business Development to qualify opportunities and shape winning strategies
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales lifecycle
  • Support pricing discussions by articulating value tied to cost savings, risk reduction, and decision speed
  • Contribute to account strategy development for key pursuits across U.S. and European markets

Technical Expertise & Thought Leadership
  • Apply expertise in:
    • Cost estimation methodologies (parametric, bottoms-up, analogy)
    • Manufacturing processes and cost drivers
    • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design to Cost (DTC)
  • Identify and communicate true process-level cost drivers (labor, cycle time, yield, scrap, tooling, etc.)
  • Support development of demo scenarios, use cases, and industry-specific solution frameworks
  • Contribute to thought leadership (presentations, white papers, webinars, client briefings)

Internal Collaboration
  • Partner with Product teams to provide feedback on SEER-MFG and SEER-H enhancements
  • Align with Consulting teams to ensure smooth transition from pre-sales to delivery
  • Collaborate with AI/SEERai teams to position next-generation capabilities in manufacturing and cost intelligence

Technical Depth Expectations
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as:
    • CNC machining, fabrication, welding
    • Composites and ply-based manufacturing
    • Assembly and integration processes
  • Experience working from engineering design through production execution
  • Ability to evaluate design trade-offs and their impact on cost and manufacturability
  • Strong grasp of process-driven cost modeling and production realities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems, or related field)
  • 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Manufacturing engineering or production environments
    • Cost estimation / cost engineering
    • Design for Manufacturing / Design to Cost
  • Demonstrated experience working with:
    • Manufacturing cost models
    • Engineering design trade-offs and cost impacts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to:
    • Engineering teams
    • Program managers
    • Executive stakeholders
  • Ability to support international engagements, including time zone flexibility and occasional travel

Preferred (Strongly Weighted)
  • Experience with CATIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Experience working with 3D models, digital twins, or CAD-integrated manufacturing workflows
  • Familiarity with parametric cost modeling tools (SEER preferred)
  • Prior experience in a sales engineering, pre-sales, or client-facing consulting role
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to ERP, MES, PLM, or digital engineering ecosystems

Key Attributes for Success
  • Ability to bridge deep engineering expertise with business value articulation
  • Strong executive presence and confidence in client-facing environments
  • Naturally consultative mindset with a focus on solving real client problems
  • Ability to quickly understand complex manufacturing environments and translate them into actionable insights
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Candidate Fit Guidance
This role is best suited for individuals who have:
  • Worked directly in manufacturing or production environments
  • Developed a practical understanding of how products are built at the process level
  • Transitioned or are interested in transitioning into a client-facing, solution-oriented role
This role is not suited for candidates with:
  • Purely theoretical cost modeling experience without manufacturing exposure
  • Purely sales-driven backgrounds without strong engineering or production experience
This is a remote position with 20% of International travel expectations.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
